We are introducing to you a new, revolutionary line of hunting ammunition. Developed by hunters for determined hunters who are conscious about the environment and who appreciate supreme accuracy. We have field tested our ammunition on all continents under different weather conditions and we have never come back from a hunting trip empty handed. Whether we were shooting 1000 yard shots in New Zealand on a Red Stag or in Alaska on a wolf, our animals never got away.

That is the beauty of our frangible ammunition. Once you hit the cavity, the bullet causes a terminal shock to the animal and it drops in its tracks. The geometry and ballistics of our bullets will always do the same damage. There is no ricochet when impacting a rock or other hard body object, so you don't have to be worried about wounding other animals or injury to yourself or fellow hunters or guides.

DRT is the first company who figured out how to stabilize the frangible bullets in flight to achieve high accuracy. We currently have 22 patents on our ammunition.

Why is our ammunition so accurate?

Let's start with the jacket. Our jackets have concentricity of less than two tenths of one thousands. This is a first in the ammunition world. We insert a core of  compressed powdered metal, not bonded or sintered. When we finish this process, we have a bullet with perfect spin stability. We then combine the bullet with prepped brass (sized, cut to length, and weighed for a perfect match). Our neck size is within one half of a thousand's. The tolerance on our powder charge is to three tenths of a grain.

Why frangible bullets?

We are conscious about the environment and with the trend toward lead free ammunition we are one step ahead of our competitors. Our core is encapsulated in copper just like others, but we use a core of powdered metal not lead. We start with a fine mesh powder to make the core (much like the mesh of face powder). Once completed you have a projectile with unheard of accuracy at distance with terminal ballistics ensuring your trophy is down where you hit them.

DRT does not endorse irresponsible, extreme long-range hunting. When combined with practice, premium rifle and optics, the DRT ammunition is intended to extend the range of the ethical hunter.

 

The current line of available projectiles and calibers include:

253 gr. bullet in .300 WinMag, 200 gr. bullet in .300 WinMag and 171 gr. bullet in .300 WinMag
79 gr. bullet in .223 Rem and 87 gr. bullet in .223 Rem.

We are also preparing a limited series of Big Game ammunition that would include safari calibers .375 HHMag, .458 WinMag, .458 Lott, .416 Rigby, .404 Jeffery, .500 Jeffery, .505 Gibbs.
